When moving into a home in a four family multiplex, I was generally satisfied with the Pulte home.During the first year they took care of most of the issue we noted.
This specific complaint has to do with missing and loose roof shingles due to wind damage. The home warranty on this type of issue is only good for two years, after which Pulte walks away. All four families have lived in the multiplex for about 3 years. Over the last six months, there have been a variety of roof shingle issues.
The most recent was due to the noreaster storm that brought winds of 50-60 mph. All four units in this multiplex experience room shingle damage. None of the other nearby multiplex buildings did. Expert roofing professionals found that the problem is incorrectly installed roof on our building.
Pulte has refused all responsibility, even in the face of professional evidence and opinion.
I have been a homeowner in various homes over 30 years, and have never had significant roof damage to a 50-60 mph wind.Ergo, tread carefully when dealing with Pulte and be prepared to go it alone should you have problems that are clearly the result of their poor workmanship.
