Don't forget to open the PDF file to see the damage - a visual

We bought our current residence in 1993 from "The Pulte Builders." Of late, water has been stagnating in our front yard and we kept thinking that it will dry up. Eventually, the water started overflowing to the road.

We called BJ&E to come and assess the problem. When they evaluated, they found that there was crack in the pipe that was connected to the water line. So they started digging to replace the pipe. To their shock they found slabs of concrete buried under and on top of the pipe.

As they tried to get to the root of the problem, they saw a 12 x 10 concrete slab weighing perhaps tons..at which point they said that they cannot dig any further. It was pressing against the foundation of the house. And there are more underneath. BG&E was kind enough to move the concrete away from the foundation so this weighted object is not pressing against the outer wall.

I called the company yesterday and they said it is not under warranty. When this house was being built, this faulty concrete instead of being hauled away from the property was left where it was and covered with top soil. This has nothing to do with warranty. So after 19 years we are discovering the root cause of the water stagnation.

Absolutely unethical.

Monetary Loss: $12000.

Location: Annapolis, Maryland
